About the event

What was the AI-Native Banking & Fintech Conference?

The AI-Native Banking & Fintech Conference is a one-day gathering at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, hosted by Spring Labs with the Utah Bankers Association and partners including the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity, the American Fintech Council and the University of Utah Fintech Center. The 2026 edition was its third year, drawing 400+ expected attendees, 200+ of them bankers, and 120+ speakers running AI in production rather than talking about pilots.

The program was built for practitioners: a Main Stage on agentic AI in lending, risk and customer experience, a Workshop Stage on deployment, controls and cybersecurity, and a Demo Stage where nine companies showed working software in ten-minute slots. Former Acting Comptroller Michael Hsu gave the keynote on AI and the appearance of oversight.

Aloan was on the Demo Stage at 11:30am MT, and co-founder Mitch Barnard was on-site all day for 1:1 working sessions. If you missed us in Salt Lake City, the next events are listed on our events page. Bring a real deal packet and watch Aloan spread it and write the memo on your own files.

What Aloan showed on the Demo Stage

End-to-end AI commercial loan underwriting in ten minutes

The Demo Stage format is ten minutes of working software. That is enough to run a real commercial deal packet from analyst inbox to examiner-ready credit memo. The on-stage walk-through covered:

  1. 01

    Document intake and classification

Tax returns, bank statements, financials, rent rolls, K-1s. Aloan tags each by type, year, and entity.

  2. 02

    Spreading with source citations

Every number clicks back to the exact page. That's the audit trail SR 11-7 and OCC 2025-26 examiners now expect.

  3. 03

    Multi-entity consolidation, global cash flow

K-1 tracing, Schedule E reconciliation, entity graph and global cash flow rollup. No Excel handoff.

  4. 04

    Risk flags and policy checks

Revenue trend inversions, NSFs, UCC liens, covenant breaches, concentration risks, policy exceptions.

  5. 05

    Examiner-ready credit memo

Borrower overview, financial analysis, risk factors, mitigants, recommendation. Every figure cites back to source. LOS hand-off, not re-keying.
